  15. black nationalist leader: a bachelor of law degree in absentia,
  16. by the University of South Africa; in Cape Town. Mandela's law
  17. studies were interrupted 27 years ago by his arrest for
  18. involvement with the outlawed African National Congress. Mandela
  19. completed his course work by correspondence from a prison cell.
  20. He may be released after next September's general election, and
  21. will be qualified to practice as an advocate.
